We have just finished a very intense sixty day sprint that has been entirely focused on the structural logic of our upcoming Artist Portal. While the last few months were about the broad vision and the technical roadmap, this phase has been much more granular. We have been deep in the trenches of UI and UX design, mapping out exactly how an artist will interact with their career data. I have always believed that software is only as good as its usability, and in the music industry, usability has been ignored for far too long. Most royalty portals look like they were designed in the late nineties, and we are determined to change that.

Our goal for this dashboard is simple but ambitious. We want to provide total transparency to every person on our roster. When we talk about transparency, we aren't just talking about a nice looking chart. We are talking about the ability to see every single stream and every single cent in real time. We want to remove the mystery behind how music earns money in the digital age. In the current landscape, most artists have to wait months to find out how a release performed in a specific territory. We think that is an outdated way of doing business that hinders your ability to make quick decisions about your marketing or your next creative move.

The architecture we have mapped out over the last two months is built to solve this problem. We have spent countless hours in our Budapest office looking at wireframes and flowcharts to ensure that the user experience is as intuitive as possible. We want a producer to be able to log in and immediately understand their financial position without needing a degree in accounting. The dashboard will serve as a central hub where all data from our global distribution ecosystem is aggregated and presented clearly. This involves a complex backend that can talk to our partners and translate raw data into something meaningful for the creator.

We are placing a huge emphasis on the logic of royalty splits within this architecture. As I mentioned in our roadmap, Phonk and EDM are genres built on collaboration. Our UI is being designed to handle these partnerships seamlessly. You should be able to see exactly what your share of a track is and how those funds are moving. There will be no more guessing games and no more manual tracking on your end. The system is being built to be the single source of truth for your music business.

During this development phase, I have been particularly focused on the speed of the interface. We want the data to feel alive. If a track starts to gain traction on a playlist, we want that reflected in your dashboard as quickly as the technical pipes allow. We are building a system that can scale with us as we grow toward our goal of supporting one hundred artists by next year. This requires a level of technical foresight that most independent labels simply don't invest in, but we believe it is what sets BlackFire Midea apart.

We have now moved from the abstract planning phase into the actual building of the frontend components. It is a rewarding feeling to see the blueprints come to life. This portal is going to be the window through which our artists view their success, and we are taking every precaution to ensure that window is crystal clear. We still have a lot of coding and testing ahead of us, but the foundation is now officially laid.

This is about giving power back to the creator. By providing you with the same level of technical insight that a major label executive has, we are leveling the playing field. We want you to spend less time worrying about your spreadsheets and more time in the studio. The tech should work for you, not the other way around. We are excited to keep pushing forward and we will have more to share as we start to see the first functional versions of the portal.

Alright, back to work. Let’s get this music moving.
